How can I edit metadata of my local library in Audirvāna?

With the metadata editor, you can view and edit your track's metadata in Audirvāna.


The editor can edit your tracks, album, and artist's metadata.


Editing metadata in Audirvāna


In this article:


Step 1: Select your track(s), album or artist


Before opening the metadata editor, select the content you want to edit. To edit multiple tracks at the same time, choose one track, hold Shift ⇧ , and select a different track: 



Step 2: Open the metadata editor


After selecting your track(s), album, or artist, you can click on the pen icon in the toolbar to open the metadata editor of Audirvāna:



Here is the list of the metadata you can edit in Audirvāna:


Album:

  • Title (with sorting)
  • Artist (with sorting)
  • Label
  • Release date
  • Rating


Track:

  • Title (with sorting)
  • Grouping
  • Artist (with sorting)
  • Track #
  • Disc #
  • Composer
  • Genre
  • Year
  • BPM
  • Rating
  • Comment


You also have an extended tab for metadata usually related to classical tracks:

  • Soloist
  • Conductor
  • Ensemble
  • Style
  • Period


Note: In case you select streaming content, you can only see the metadata.


You can also edit the Album artwork and the Artist's picture by clicking on an album or artist and opening the metadata editor.


Any change you save will be automatically written inside the track file.


Note: To save your change, you need to press return or close the metadata editor and click on Save when being asked.
