This error can appear when the UPNP connection port is closed. It can be easily solved by using the Terminal app on MacOS. You can find Terminal in the Applications folder under the Utilities folder.
We recommend you copy and paste this line and press return:
lsof -i 4udp:1900 -sTCP:LISTEN
After doing this, reopen Audirvāna, and you should be able to select your UPNP device.
