Linux

You can change the sorting in Audirvāna in two ways: using the shortcut directly in the view or the sorting editor.

Audirvāna can sort your local albums, tracks, artists, playlists, and favorites (local and streaming).

Note: The criterias available for sorting depend on the information contained in the metadata. The streaming services or radios only transmit limited information. Therefore you can have limitations in the sorting option of favorites which can contain tracks from your local library and your streaming service.

With view's shortcut

You can easily change the sorting of the view you are in if you have this button at the top of your view:

Once you click on this button, you can change the sorting and the order of the current sorting by clicking on the currently selected sort.

Note: If the sorting criteria is alphabetical, you will see alphabetical shortcuts on the right side to reach a specific zone instead of scrolling.

Please read this article if you don't see your album, track, or artist in the right place.

If you have tracks displayed, you can also click on the column title of your choice to sort and change the order accordingly. To display more columns, left-click on the title of any column.

With sorting editor

When you can sort a view in Audirvāna, you can click on this icon in the toolbar to open the sorting editor of Audirvāna:

Since sorting is often based on multiple criteria, the editor shows precisely how a specific view is sorted with all the criteria involved and allows you to define the sorting rule you want to apply precisely.

For example, the first sorting criteria can be 'album artists', and for each artist by 'album title'. This is the secondary sorting criteria:

To change the sorting order, you can drag and drop the criteria to the position of your choice.

Reach sorting can be individually removed, and you can add a new one at the bottom of the current list of criteria.

Depending on your first sorting, you can group your library into different' sections'. Please read this article to learn more.

By default, the sorting changes are not automatically saved. However, you can revert any saved changes to the previous sorting by clicking on 'Revert'.

Playlists are not sorted by default since you can drag and drop your tracks to reorder them manually.

To sort playlists, first, click 'Sort also Manual playlist' or 'Streaming Owned Playlists':

Note: Manual playlists, by default, rely on your local albums and track sorting. They can also be sorted individually by clicking 'Reorder tracks'.
